Training Update
So as many of you know, I am training for a half-marathon that is in June. The training is going really well actually. I have a friend who is training with me, so it is a lot easier to get on a regular schedule of running. We have been running usually Monday through Friday. Mondays are our long days. We add a mile each week. Today, we ran 8 miles. It really wasn't too bad either. We have been running outside a lot more now that it is warming up. If it is cold outside, we run inside the Hart building on campus. We either run on the treadmills or inside the fieldhouse. The problem with the treadmills is that most of the treadmills on the gym are right in front of mirrors, which really makes the run seem long. The other problem is that their is little circulation of air around the treadmills, so it gets really hot. We have ran a lot in the fieldhouse, which is nice when it is cold outside. The fieldhouse has a little track in it and 11 times around the track is a mile. So when we get up to 4 or more miles it gets pretty repetitive and boring. So, we really prefer to run outside. It has been a lot warmer the last few days so hopefully it stays that way. The half marathon is in June, so we still have a little while to train. But, it is going a lot better than I imagined. I have realized how good it is to have a regular exercise program. It really makes you feel good. Anyway, I thought I would update real quick because a lot of people have been asking how it is going.

Kudos to you for training for something so intense! You'll have to let us know when it is so we can go cheer you on!
YAY! 8 miles! We are almost there!
Good luck with the training. It sounds like you are doing really well.
Good job! If the race is in June, you don't really need to add a mile every week, right? You could be doing a full marathon if you kept at this pace! They say you only have to do 10 or so in training and you will be able to do the final 3 during the race just with the adrenaline and what not. I did 7 miles a couple weeks in a row and I've gone downhill from there. I need to start going outside, though. It's much better than the treadmill.
Well I would like to think that I will be that motivated to get back in shape after I have my baby hahaha I guess you will just have to be my inspiration. You go girl!
