4 Months Old!

Mckenna is 4 months old! Time sure flies! We went to the doctor yesterday and she is doing great! She weighed 13 lbs 3 oz which puts her in the 40th percentile. Her height was 23 inches (17th percentile) and her head was in the 76th percentile! She is all over the board! Good thing she doesn't look that disproportioned! I guess she gets her height from me and her big head from Devin! :) She also got her shots. She really wasn't way fussy, mostly just tired. The doctor said that she is actually ahead developmentally with how she grabs toys and is already grabbing her feet. So, it was good to hear that she is doing well. We will start solids pretty soon, which will be kind of weird, but I'm sure I will post about it when the time comes.

These are pictures of a toy that Devin made for Mckenna. He tied some toys to her swing for her to play with!

Training Update

So as many of you know, I am training for a half-marathon that is in June. The training is going really well actually. I have a friend who is training with me, so it is a lot easier to get on a regular schedule of running. We have been running usually Monday through Friday. Mondays are our long days. We add a mile each week. Today, we ran 8 miles. It really wasn't too bad either. We have been running outside a lot more now that it is warming up. If it is cold outside, we run inside the Hart building on campus. We either run on the treadmills or inside the fieldhouse. The problem with the treadmills is that most of the treadmills on the gym are right in front of mirrors, which really makes the run seem long. The other problem is that their is little circulation of air around the treadmills, so it gets really hot. We have ran a lot in the fieldhouse, which is nice when it is cold outside. The fieldhouse has a little track in it and 11 times around the track is a mile. So when we get up to 4 or more miles it gets pretty repetitive and boring. So, we really prefer to run outside. It has been a lot warmer the last few days so hopefully it stays that way. The half marathon is in June, so we still have a little while to train. But, it is going a lot better than I imagined. I have realized how good it is to have a regular exercise program. It really makes you feel good. Anyway, I thought I would update real quick because a lot of people have been asking how it is going.

Mckenna's Milestones

Here are a few more pictures of Mckenna. She is doing so good. She is about 13 pounds now and is so happy. She is always smiling and is a wiggle worm. She is now reaching for rattles and playing with them a little more.

The other night, Devin and I were watching a movie and we looked down and Mckenna was trying to roll over. She started on her back and then moved to her side. But that is about as far as she got.

She hates tummy time, but she got a tummy time mat for Christmas that helps a little. It is like a small boppy with toys attached to it.
I have been trying to be a little more adventurous with recipes, so for Valentine's day, Devin and I made this brownie cake. It was sooo good! It was a lot of fun to make it together. It is pretty much two layers of butterscotch brownies with butterscotch and chocolate syrup stuff on top.
