Haircuts

The girls both needed haircuts. Thanks to YouTube, I successfully cut their hair. I'm all about saving some money and I figure it can't be too hard! 

They both did great. Brielle has always woken up with bedhead. But with her hair a little shorter, the hair monster really gets her! This is how her hair looks pretty much every morning. She doesn't seem to mind.

August

Brielle is such a cuddle bug! She sticks that thumb in her mouth and will cuddle away! She loves Mckenna.

These two are the best of friends. They do everything together.

We had fun reading books all summer and got tickets from the summer reading program at the library. Mckenna and Brielle spent their hard earned tickets on some slime.

We also stood in line forever to get face paintings. Mckenna got a rainbow on her cheek and Brielle got a heart on her hand. She make sure I got a picture of it too :)

Miner's Jubilee

Baker has a few small celebrations during the summer. One of them is Miner's Jubilee. Mckenna was in the parade on a Preschool float. She sat in the very front and waved her little heart out.

She was excited that they could bring spray bottles and squirt each other.

In July, Devin and Deanna stayed with us for a week and a half while they closed on their house in Fruitland. It was so nice to have them over. Mckenna and Brielle love their girls, Alayna and Elyse. We went on lots of bike rides and spent a few days in swimming suits.

4th of July

For the 4th of July, we got to see Eric and Megan, and their kids Kaylee and Colton.  Eric is graduating from Texas Tech and they are moving to Maryland. So we were glad to see them one last time before their move.

4th of July is Devin's birthday. I decided to make a Snickers Peanut Butter Ice Cream Cake. It was pretty rich!

And of course, we had to put 29 candles on top.

It was so hard to get a good cousin picture! 8 cousins, 7 of them being age 2 and under!

Cousin Fun

Me and the girls spent a few days in Idaho Falls at my parents house between family reunions. Devin's wife, Deanna, also stayed there with their kids. And Brittany and Nathan were there for some of the week too.

Brielle and Alayna- they are either the best of friends or worst enemies, depending on the time of day. No, they love each other most of the time. But like any 2 year olds, they have their moments.

It is so nice to live closer to family. These girls sure love their cousins!

Levi still wasn't so sure of us, but he was happy in the pool!

And cute Elyse is happy wherever she is :)

So Talented

We went to my dad's family reunion this year. It was fun to see everyone again. They have an annual talent show and Mckenna was dying to be a part of it. She picked 4 talents to do because she is 4 years old.

Talent #1- Eating a chip with her eyes closed

Talent #2- Reciting the 3rd Article of Faith (as a Primary we have been working on the Articles of Faith. Mckenna has 1, 2, 3, most of 4, some of 5, and 6 memorized. She amazes me.)

Talent #3- Jumping in a circle

Brielle's Birthday

Sweet Brielle turned 2 the end of June. I can't believe she is already 2! Time is going by way too fast. 

So remember last year when Brielle turned 1, we were in the middle of a cross country move? And how she was totally jipped on her birthday? And how I promised that the next year we would make up for it? Well, that didn't happen haha. It turns out June 28th is a great day to hold summer activities, such as family reunions. Which was just fine, but we ended up traveling yet again on Brielle's birthday. Good thing she is still young enough to not care.

We celebrated the day before her birthday with cupcakes and presents. She got a few books, a few small toys, and...

a new tricycle. (that Mckenna likes and rides more than Brielle. Oh well, some day she will be able to ride it better.)

Brielle, where do I even start to describe you? You are adventurous, curious, sweet, and very funny. You love to make people laugh (especially Mckenna). You are very happy and easy going. You love food! Your favorite is watermelon and yogurt.  You will be shy around strangers until they say "candy" or "treat", and then you will be their best friend. You still suck your thumb, especially when you are shy or tired. When we were at family reunions this summer, your thumb even started bleeding because you sucked it so much. You love Mckenna and want to do everything she is doing. You love to read books, just like Mckenna. We sit and read books on the couch for hours at a time. You like to ride bikes, tickle people, play dress up, do puzzles, and push your baby or doggy in the stroller. You love your doggy and your blankie and always have to have them when you go to sleep. You are a cuddle bug. Sometimes you try to cuddle with Mckenna and she doesn't want to. You take a long nap every afternoon (about 3 to 3 1/2 hours). But, if you don't get your nap, you don't get very cranky. You love shoes. You have a pair of yellow shoes with a pink flower on them that you want to wear every day. When we pick you up from nursery, you get so excited and run to us and hug us as if you haven't seen us for days.

We love you Brielle! You keep us all laughing. You are so sweet! We are so glad you are in our family. We love you, Brielle!
