Almost 2!

I can't believe Brielle is almost 2! She is the cutest thing.

Just about everywhere we go, we get comments on her red hair. I'm not sure if it will stay, but we hope it does. 

Brielle sure loves Mckenna. She has enjoyed summer and getting to spend every day with Mckenna.  They get along great for the most part. Brielle has become a parrot and will repeat anything Mckenna says. Mckenna uses it to her advantage a lot of the time :)

Painting

Our Memorial Day weekend was a little

bit

messy.

We painted our kitchen.  We have now painted the living room, a bathroom, the Master bedroom, the girl's room, and the kitchen. We had to paint the ceilings and trim in those rooms too. We are sick of painting, but loving the result a fresh coat of paint provides.

Levi

My sister Brittany and her two kids, Levi and Hailey, came to visit in May. Brittany's husband, Nathan, went on a business trip. Brittany decided to come stay with us for a few days instead of being home by herself. And boy, are we glad she came.

By these pictures, I'm not sure what Levi thought of us :).  But we sure like him!

 It sure was busy with 4 young kids here.  Looks like these are the only pictures I got. Brittany and I had lots of crafting plans at the beginning of the week, but the end came so fast and we had only made one bow! I guess she will just have to come visit again!

Bookworm- May

Mckenna loves reading books! When her preschool teacher announced the caterpillar reading program, Mckenna was so excited.  Whenever Mckenna read a book, we had to write the name of the book on a circle. Each child turned in their circles with names of books that they read during about a 6 week period. Her teacher used these circles to make a caterpillar that went around the preschool.  Mckenna has always been excited about reading and reads for at least an hour every day. She likes it when I read to her, but she also "reads" to herself or to Brielle.  By the end of 6 weeks, Mckenna had read 251 books! She read the most out of everyone in the preschool. They had a pizza party where they gave out awards. Mckenna clutched onto her circles that whole day.  When we got home, Mckenna and I spent the afternoon taping her circles around her room. Her caterpillar went all the way around her bedroom, down the hall, and most of the way around the other bedroom. She was so proud :)

April Showers

Hopefully our April showers will bring May flowers! Despite Brielle's face in the picture, they had fun playing outside in the rain!

Grandma Collins made their dresses and gave them to the girls for Christmas. I decided to count those as Easter dresses so I didn't have to make any :)

Mckenna really had fun this year

We went to the community Easter egg hunt on Saturday.  We left our camera in the car :(.  And I really wished that I had it to video tape what happened.  Brielle was too young, so she just got a small pre-made basket.  Mckenna was in the 4-5 age group.  Their were a lot of kids.  Once they blew the whistle to get the eggs, Mckenna started running, but immediately turned around running back to us. She wanted us to go with her, but adults couldn't go in. So we kept telling her to go get some eggs, and she kept refusing. Finally, she went out and got a few close ones. Later, she was sad she didn't get very many eggs. Maybe next year she won't be so scared! :)
